Director of Sport & Recreation
Albany Senior High School is seeking an energetic, organised and relationship-focused Director of Sport & Recreation to lead and grow our school-wide sport and physical recreation programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about increasing student participation, supporting sporting performance and creating inclusive opportunities for young people to be active, connected and involved. The successful applicant will provide both strategic and operational leadership across sport, working closely with students, staff, whānau, coaches, community clubs and regional sporting organisations.
The role includes leading the strategic development of sport and recreation at ASHS, overseeing sporting programmes and competitions, supporting and developing coaches and student leaders, building community partnerships and ensuring our programmes are well organised, safe, sustainable and responsive to student interests.
We are looking for someone who:
has strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
can build positive relationships with young people and a wide range of stakeholders
understands the secondary school sport environment
is confident managing people, programmes, budgets and partnerships
is committed to growing participation alongside opportunities for performance and sporting excellence
will actively contribute to the ASHS values of Nurture, Inspire and Empower
This is a permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday position. The role is term time only however some work may be required during term break.
The terms and conditions for this position is based on the Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement.
